About

Year 2023 —

After spending my twenties doing all the things — traveling, discovering my love of writing, trying to figure out what I’m good at and passionate about, how to make a living, how to live well and be happy, and working on some awesome projects — I find myself at age 32 and many big life events have taken place over the last 3 years.

What began as a freelance gig evolved into a career as an SEO content marketer at an agency called Grow and Convert. I met my other half on the Central Coast of California, and moved to San Luis Obispo County where I purchased my first home. I’ve watched some of my closest friends in the world get married and start having kids. I’ve gotten engaged myself. And I’ve moved far enough away from many of my friends and family where we only see each other a couple times of year now.

I’m continually, utterly humbled by how hard life can feel at times, despite the incredible fortune that I’ve been gifted and the beauty that’s all around me — and despite all the lessons I’ve learned, tools I’ve discovered, and insights I’ve had.

The last few years have felt like the beginning of a distinctly new chapter in life. Currently, I’m not sure where it’s all heading. But I’m excited, and hopeful about what it may hold.

CAMERON BROWN
Career

Work at Grow & Convert

I work as an SEO strategist and content marketer for the content agency Grow and Convert. We help our clients identify high-buying-intent keywords for their business, and rank for those keywords with unique pieces of content. In addition to managing client accounts, I do content marketing for our agency. You can find my portfolio of articles here, and my latest case study here.

Passion

Cleantech Advocacy

Previously I ran a nonprofit advocacy organization called Cleantech Rising with my friends Zoheb Davar and Kevin Wallner. We focused on supporting the advancement of clean technologies to help solve our greatest environmental problems. We no longer have a website, but you can find the archive of many of our newsletters here.

Service & Community

Surfrider Chapter Leadership

Previously I spent 5 years on the executive committee of Surfrider Foundation’s South Bay Chapter, leading a dedicated group of activists in support of plastic pollution reduction, clean water, ocean protection, coastal preservation, and beach access.
